Statal Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

AFK Labs ("AFK Labs," "we," "us," or "our") operates Statal, a fitness, training, nutrition, and wellness tracking app.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using Statal.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, authentication identifiers, sign-in provider information, and related account metadata. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide us with information needed to create and authenticate your account.

Device identifiers

Statal creates an app-specific device identifier derived from Apple's identifierForVendor and stores it on your device. When you are signed in, we associate this identifier with your synced account records. We use it to support synchronization, conflict resolution, security, and troubleshooting. We do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Training, nutrition, and app data

Statal lets you log and store workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, personal records, workout templates, cardio sessions, nutrition entries, calorie and macro targets, preferences, and related notes.

Apple Health data

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Statal requests read-only access to supported cardio workouts and active energy data through HealthKit. For supported workouts—including running, walking, cycling, rowing, elliptical training, and hiking—Statal may collect the workout title or type, start and end times, duration, distance, active energy burned, and the HealthKit workout identifier.

Statal stores imported workout records on your device and syncs them to your Statal account using Supabase so your workout history can be backed up and accessed across your devices. Supabase processes this information on our behalf solely to provide account storage, backup, and cross-device sync. Statal does not write data to Apple Health.

Statal uses Apple Health data only to provide workout-history, fitness-tracking, backup, and cross-device sync features. We do not use Apple Health data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining. We do not sell Apple Health data or disclose it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.

You can control or revoke Statal's access to Apple Health through the Health or Privacy settings on your device. Revoking access prevents Statal from importing additional workouts but does not automatically delete records previously imported into your Statal account. You can delete previously imported records by deleting your Statal account.

Barcode scanning and camera access

If you use barcode scanning, Statal requests camera access to scan food barcodes. Camera access is used for scanning only. We do not store photos or video from your camera.

Food search data

When you search for foods or scan barcodes, your query or barcode may be sent to our backend and to our nutrition data provider so we can return food and nutrition information. Food search queries and barcode values may also temporarily appear in backend or hosting request logs used for app functionality, security, and troubleshooting. When you are signed in, this information may be associated with your account.

Technical and diagnostic information

We and our service providers may collect technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, network information, backend request logs, errors, and diagnostic data to operate, secure, and improve Statal. This information may be associated with your account or device.

Support communications

If you contact us, we may collect your email address and any information you include in your message.

No Tracking, Advertising, or Sale

Statal does not use information collected through the app to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, serve targeted advertising, or sell your personal information.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • authenticate users and protect account access;
  • provide workout, nutrition, cardio, backup, and cross-device sync features;
  • sync, back up, restore, export, and delete account data;
  • process food searches and barcode lookups;
  • provide support;
  • debug, secure, maintain, and improve Statal; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

Third-Party Services

Statal uses third-party service providers to operate the app, including:

  • Supabase for authentication, database services, account data storage, backup, and cross-device sync;
  • Render or similar hosting providers for backend hosting;
  • FatSecret for food and nutrition data; and
  • Apple services, including Sign in with Apple and HealthKit.

These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Statal and according to their own privacy policies and terms. We require service providers that process Apple Health-derived data on our behalf to protect that data and not use it for advertising, marketing, profiling, sale, or unrelated data mining.

Cloud Sync and Backup

When you are signed in, Statal syncs app data to your account using Supabase. Synced data may include workouts, templates, exercises, cardio sessions, nutrition entries, settings, and imported Apple Health-derived workout records. This allows you to restore your history and access it across devices.

Synced data is associated with your Statal account and is handled according to the Account Deletion and Data Retention sections below.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account from within Statal. When you delete your account, we delete account data we control, including server account data, app data stored in our backend, cloud backups, and local app data on the device where deletion is performed.

Some records may remain where we do not control them or where retention is required, such as records held by Apple or limited records retained by third-party processors for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.

Deleting your Statal account does not remove information from Apple Health. Apple Health data and permissions must be managed separately through the Health or Privacy settings on your device.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Statal, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. If you delete your account, we delete data we control unless retention is legally required or technically necessary for a limited period.

Children's Privacy

Statal is intended for a general audience but is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

International Processing

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Your Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request a copy of your personal information. You may also manage app permissions such as Health, camera, and notifications through your device settings.
